Abstract
This paper presents a method for detection and restoration of old film blotches. We employ an approach based on the global motion segmentation. Blotches are detected as the image areas pixels of which do not follow any parametric global interframe transformation model. The detected blotch areas in the interesting image frame are replaced with the warp-compensated image areas produced by transforming the other image frames. This paper presents the results of the simulations using real old film sequences. The simulation results demonstrate the robustness and the good performance of the presented method
