Abstract :
We discuss the use of Opto-VLSI technology to realize reconfigurable optical add drop multiplexers and tunable lasers. We experimentally demonstrate a reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer structure with more than 30 dB inter-channel isolation and 0.3dB uniformity, as well as a 3-port tunable laser source that can be tuned within the C-band with a wavelength step of about 0.05nm, a laser linewidth as narrow as 0.05 nm and an optical side-mode-suppression-ratio of about 35 dB.
