Abstract
In this paper, we examine the accuracy of our method by comparing the calculated dispersion relations with the transmission spectra obtained by Pendry´s method. We show that opaque spectral ranges found in the transmission spectra correspond quite well to the band gaps and the frequency ranges where only uncoupled modes exist. We also show that the interference patterns are singular when the incident light excites more than one eigenmode simultaneously as was reported previously for other geometries.
