Abstract :
In this paper the performance evaluation of a photovoltaic (PV) solar system with different MPPT methods is presented. The PV system is composed of a 3 kW PV array with commercial V-I characteristics, dc-dc boost converter, a battery set based on commercial data-sheet and a variable resistive load. The analysis is carried on Matlab/Simulink simulations where fast varying solar irradiation and temperature, and load disturbance, are considered. The performance issues of concern here are the tracking capability and the impact on the current ratings of the devices.
