Abstract
Contactless power transfer systems are receiving newfound attention, although current commercial systems can only tolerate limited movement of the receiver relative to the track (transmitter). A new multi-phase (Quadrature) pick-up has previously been presented to extend the allowable movement. This paper presents a high power prototype of the quadrature pick-up based on a commercial pick-up design for AGV systems. Practical aspects of the design are covered, such as producing a consistent power output with lateral movement, and maintaining vertical clearance between the pick-up and the track.
