Abstract
The initial-value problem to the inhomogeneous wave equation is investigated for the case of sources distributed on a circular frame expanding and moving with the wavefront velocity. Explicit solutions are represented in terms of transient modes in the cylindrical coordinate system. Application of the scalar solutions to description of the electromagnetic waves and implementation of corresponding source currents are discussed
