  • Abstract
We find that microcrystalline orientation has a strong effect on the optical properties of evaporated thin films. And, we observed the surface structure of thin-films by using an atomic force microscope (AFM). The reflective intensities of attenuated total reflection curves for tin-phthalocyanine (SnPc) layer thin-films and Al thin-films were shown. Based on these results, correlations between the electric field induced by surface plasmon resonance and fabrication conditions (for example, molecular alignments, thickness, molecular size) were studied from the applied point of view as a photoelectric conversion cell. Three-layer cells that were formed from three kinds of materials (gold, SnPc and aluminum) were fabricated to investigate the photoelectric conversion efficiency. The most suitable thickness in each layer must be decided to enhance the optical properties of SnPc and the photoelectric conversion efficiency of three-layer sandwich solar cells.
