Abstract :
An analytical medium access control (MAC) and physical (PHY) cross-layer model for the saturation goodput and delay of IEEE 802.11 wireless local area networks (WLANs) operating under the wireless-fidelity multimedia (WMM) specification is derived. A comparison between numerical and simulation results, assuming an uncorrelated flat fading Rayleigh channel, is carried out for the high rate direct sequence spread spectrum (HR/DSSS) IEEE 802.11b PHY layer
