Abstract :
In rural areas, telecenters have become one of the widely used delivery mediums for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) enabled services. Much research has been done on the economic aspects of telecenters such as business viability. In literature, scarce information is available on the development impact of telecenters in rural areas. This paper therefore attempts to addresses this gap by discussing and analyzing the case of Mahiti Mitra (MM) project using development lens. Using the case study approach, the project is analysed using development parameters like human, social, political, economic and informational.
