Abstract :
The linear stage of parametric instability of low-frequency electromagnetic surface waves guided by the planar dielectric slab immersed into magnetoactive plasma is investigated. This instability can arise due to the presence of an intense time-harmonic electric field oriented perpendicular to the slab boundary. It is assumed that superimposed static magnetic field is oriented parallel to the slab boundary and normal to the propagation direction of the surface waves. The instability growth rate and the threshold amplitude of the pumping electric field are determined
