Abstract
Large and small companies have been venturing into the Internet Service Provider (ISP) industry because the demand for Internet access has increased considerably in the past few years. The competition is fierce and only the providers that meet the customer needs and differentiate themselves from their competitors will have a good future. The influx of competitors has left the customer with many choices and deciding on the best one for their needs has become a somewhat complicated issue. This paper develops a model to help the consumer make an informed decision when choosing between different ISPs. The decision model will include objective input of the options from the ISP, and subjective input based on the customer´s preferences of those features. The companies to include in the model were selected based on popularity in the Portland, Oregon, area according to CNET´s website
