Abstract :
Field emission properties of α-Fe2O3 nanotips were studied after they were exposed to X-ray irradiation from synchrotron radiation. The field emission threshold field of α-Fe2O3 nanotips decreased after X-ray irradiation. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results revealed that nitrogen content in α-Fe2O3 nanotips increased with irradiation time. The change in field emission properties of α-Fe2O3 nanotips after X-ray irradiation was attributed to the change of back contact barrier height.
