  • Abstract
Summary form only given. In this paper we present theoretical method and experimental work for obtaining the time-resolved energy spectra of neutrons emitted in the Filippov type plasma focus, DENA. This facility is operated at 18 kV discharge voltage, about 1 MA pinch current and 50 kJ capacitor energy. The experiments have been performed by recording the signals of a number of neutron detectors (plastic scintillator+PMT) placed at the different optimized distances from the source. A Monte-Carlo reconstruction method has been used for optimizing the set of the experiments. To simulate of the detectors responses, the MCNP code has been employed and then, reconstruction and comparison of the time-resolved energy spectrum of fusion neutrons have been done by Monte-Carlo method. Time resolution of about 5-10 ns and energy resolution of about 50-100 keV is achieved. Finally, a comparative study of neutron emission mechanisms in the two type of geometry of plasma focus devices, Mather and Filippov, is presented by using this method.
