Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present the conception, design, control strategy and practical construction of high frequency resonant power converters for tube welding applications. The different working modes of the current fed inverter are analyzed and the simulated waveforms are shown for the practical case where the leakage inductance of the output power transformer is not negligible. The optimum control strategy and the practical aspects in the construction of a 400 kW/200 kHz converter for tube welding applications are explained.<>
