Abstract
In the present work, a plasma antenna is characterised for the application in the VHF range. An efficient network for plasma generation, and a feeding network for the VHF signal are presented, together with the results of measurements and simulations on the structure. Comparison between a traditional metallic antenna is also presented. The switched on time of the plasma is measured to look into the possibility of using the plasma elements in a reconfigurable array
