Abstract :
Summary form only given. We recently showed a subset of a modified power spectrum (MPS) and pulse solutions´ of Maxwell´s equations can be used to provide an analytical description of single-cycle pulses. In that work we investigated the spatio-temporal evolution of well collimated, focused pulses with a well-defined direction of propagation. In the present paper, we consider another regime of single-cycle pulse solutions that resemble the fields of a circular loop antenna. The fields have cylindrical symmetry and expand radially outward with time.
