Abstract :
In 1998, H.332 (H.323 extended for loosely-coupled conferences) was decided as a recommendation of the International Telecommunication Union. It gives scalability to H.323 multimedia conference on packet-based networks. H.332 adopts a multicast architecture among RTP/RTCP receiving terminals. But if RTP/RTCP receiving terminals are not connected to existing multicast networks (e.g. Mbone), the receivers cannot participate in a H.332-conference. An additional procedure and network architecture are required for the receivers to join the conference. A dynamic multicast architecture for loosely-coupled conference and the required procedure for dynamic multicast based loosely-coupled conference are proposed
