On the Strategy of Resource Catalog and Coding

The standardization of resource catalog and coding for e-learning applications is an effective way to manage, search, interchange and reuse e-learning resources. An effective coding strategy provides a high quality service for e-learning resource users. In this paper, we study this catalog resource coding problem. We first provide the background of our research, and then review some existing catalog standards and specifications. We propose a strategy of E-learning resource catalog and coding based on user, subject and format. We implement the proposed scheme in a prototype system. The prototype experiments demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed scheme.
