  • Abstract
This paper reports that the Nickel Ferrite (NiFe2O4) nanoparticle has been synthesized by chemical method applying ultrasonic vibration followed by sintering at the temperature range of 200-1400°C. Ultrafine particles has been successfully obtained which was confirmed by X-ray diffraction patterns. In order to study properties like resistivity and permittivity of NiFe2O4, samples have been sintered in the temperature range of 800-1400°C for 3 hours. Homogeneous grain distribution has been found from Scanning Electron Microscopy. The DC electrical resistivity of NiFe2O4 samples decreases with increase in temperature which is due to grain size and grain boundary as well as electron hopping between Fe3+ and Fe2+ state. The dependence of dielectric properties on sintering temperature has been presented for the frequency range of 100 kHz to 5 MHz which follows the conventional nature of ferrites, that is, the permittivity has its lowest value at the highest frequency of 5 MHz.
