Abstract
Real-time wireless video transfer for mobile computing is an exciting new research area, with prototype systems becoming possible, due in particular to emerging video compression techniques and improved digital wireless products. This paper presents an overview of the technological issues associated with short-range (2-5 m) wireless video transfer for multiple (transmitter/receiver links) mobile users in varying environments, in particular the multi-access and video compression techniques. It also proposes a prototype system that could be used to evaluate aspects of the proposed system and compare them with newly developed technologies
