Abstract
Results are reported on the complex analysis of occlusal sounds, a method for automatic classification of the sounds, and the realization of an apparatus to perform the automatic classification. The analysis takes place in both the time and frequency domain, using a model for the human tooth, with the aim of deriving reliable patterns of the sounds. The final goal is to develop a system for automatic diagnosis in dentistry, based on occlusal sounds.<>
