Abstract
Summary form only given. In dielectric-barrier discharge in air at atmospheric pressure between plate electrodes, discharge filaments (microdischarges) form a regular pattern. Monte-Carlo simulation of microdischarge interaction in discharge gap based on proposed model was developed. The goal was to investigate numerically the conditions when the surface treatment is more efficient. Microdischarge interaction increases with increase of specific power and multiple microdischarge patterns become more non-uniform, that leads to decrease in surface as well as volume treatment efficiency. Voltage waveforms have different effects on pattern formation; using pulse voltage in dielectric barrier discharge can raise the efficiency of treatment by decreasing non-uniformity of the patterns. We developed software for numerical simulation of plasma chemical kinetics in discharge. Detailed analysis of chemical kinetics model based on KINEMA chemical reaction mechanism in humid air was performed. Numerical results include the effect of microdischarge self-organization on NO/sub x/ production.
