The implementation model of the FRACAS based-on PDM and its fabrication on the teamcenter platform

To achieve the integration of failure reporting, analysis and corrective action system (FRACAS) with the main process of product design, an implementation model was proposed based on product data management (PDM)methodology. The model was built on the basis of PDM product objects and process objects, and depicted the product failure data and the closed loop control process in FRACAS with the object-oriented analysis method, such model made it possible to share and support each other between the FRACAS data and the product design data. By using the model, we had realized the main function of FRACAS on typical PDM system-Teamcenter Enterprise with its platform and customization function, and had constructed the foundation of the way to build a FRACAS seamlessly integrated with the PDM.
