Abstract
This paper presents an adaptive nonlinear controller (ANC) for a three-phase permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The designed ANC controller combines the nonlinear input-output linearization technique with linear adaptive control techniques. It takes into account the uncertainties in the stator inductance and the rotor moment of inertia which are difficult to measure with accuracy. A good speed tracking performance with no error is obtained. Real-time implementation based on a floating-point DSP TMS320C31 is used to test the controller´s performance
