Abstract :
Practical design of a novel coaxial-waveguide oscillator is done on the basis of computer-aided solution of analytical model equations. Measurements have been done on the designed oscillator and compared with the theoretical characterization results. The oscillator designed with IMPATT diode (Hughes 47101H-0405) embedded in the coaxial-waveguide cavity is found to provide a broad bandwidth (~ 20%) and high power (~ 1 W) with the oscillation frequency around 34.25 GHz.
