Abstract
In this paper, the authors propose a new approach for designing low cost/high performance sensor arrays. This method is based on the on-chip association of a sensor array and a new signal processing method-blind source separation. Such a microsystem is able to cancel crosstalk between a few sources as well as cross sensitivities (for instance, due to temperature). A hardware prototype, based on an analog interface and a DSP for enhanced flexibility has been designed. Results obtained with Hall-type silicon magnetic sensor array are presented in the paper, but the method can be applied to any type of sensors
