Abstract :
In this paper, a discrete particle swarm optimization (DPSO) algorithm is proposed to solve assembly sequence planning (ASP) with the objective of minimizing the assembly costs and maintain the reliability of assembly process. To make DPSO algorithm suitable for solving ASP, special coding methods and position updating rules are proposed, and the effects caused by the changes of parameters in DPSO algorithm are also discussed. Finally, the performance of the proposed DPSO algorithm to solve ASP is verified through the numerical simulation.
