Abstract :
The electronics industry is a representative example of technological convergence-the process by which different industries come to share similar technological bases. Utilizing patent data, index of RTA and method of scoring, technology convergence in Chinese electronic industry under FDI environment is analyzed. It is found that foreign MNCs are driving the process of inter-industry technology convergence in Chinese electronic industry while Chinese firms generally presenting technology diversity among the industries TEM, EEM and CTM. Further, specific technological fields representing different phases of technology convergence process in Electronic Industry are identified.
