  • Abstract
Ultra wideband system performance is analyzed in terms of error probability for different modulation and multi-access schemes over the AWGN channel. The analysis leads to closed-form expressions of the bit error probability under the hypothesis of chip-synchronous systems, allowing a comparison of different techniques in a possible scenario for UWB applications. The use of convolutional codes to improve the performance of time hopping systems is also addressed.
