Abstract :
This paper describes the development and implementation issues for a real-time speaker independent speech recognition system with limited quality speech. The platform is a computer with a telephone interface card. Meaningful constrained grammar phrases contained within extraneous speech are recognised online, with an Afrikaans conversational interface prompting the caller for correct answers
