Abstract
We describe object-oriented communication in telemammography, which must transfer extremely large quantities of image data efficiently and flexibly in a distributed environment. The novel aspect of this investigation is the consideration of implications of existing world standards like Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine (DICOM) to the South Africa Telecommunication Information Networking Architecture Trial (SATIN)
