Abstract :
The authors present a DC/DC converter which operates at 100 kHz and uses the principle of the Cockraft Walton voltage multiplier circuit. The novel concept is in the multiplier circuit, where the diodes are replaced by MOSFETs and the sinusoidal input is replaced by a square wave voltage. This permits high-frequency operation and improves operation parameters. The circuit consists of two modules: the switching stage and the multiplier stage. The switching stage converts the DC input to a square wave output which is needed for the weight of the capacitors. Simulation results and experimental results of the circuit are presented. The experimental results prove that the circuit can be built with commercially available components
