Abstract :
In this paper, the authors describe a broader view for computing education. It has evolved in response to many influences, including opportunities for professional growth, requirements for retraining, curriculum guidelines, the needs of the State of Georgia (USA) and its university system, entrepreneurial characteristics of the Southern Polytechnic, and the needs of business and industry. The authors are convinced this approach is a useful map for broadening computer science education and guiding individual citizens to chart a rational approach through an expanding maze of computing education options.
