  • Abstract
    For the first time, and under the coordination of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum (MEP), the Venezuelan Utilities made up a work team with generation and transmission planning experts, in order to define and apply a methodology that integrates the generation and transmission system planning expansion. This methodology allows to consider the Government leads of development of the Nation and the Energetic Sector, within the formulation of the National Electrical Service Development Plan (NESDP), with the goal of establishing the best technical and economical options for the generation and electrical transmission system expansion, that allows to supply the forecasted demand for the 2005-2024 period, with criteria of quality and reliability. This paper describes the development methodology and gives the results obtained from its application, these results were considered as recommendations of the NESDP
