Abstract :
The Venezuela´s development plan for the electrical service (PDSEN) 2005-2024 has as main goal to determine the generation requirements and transmission expansion to meet the demand in such period. The most important assumptions for PDSEN were that there would be gas enough for this period and the price would be unique for all areas. Those assumptions were critical since they determined which technology would be used in any area and also the generation capacity to be installed. Based on that, it was necessary to perform a sensitivity analysis to take into account the effect of price and gas supply variations in the new planned facilities for generation and transmission
