Abstract :
This paper describes locating systems in indoors half-manufactured environments using wireless communications framework. Such framework is available through existing communications hardware as is the case of ZigBee standard. Using this framework as locating system can provide trilateration scheme using receiver signal strength indication (RSSI) measurements. An experiment shows RSSI measurement errors and some filters are developed to minimize them. These results present some insights to future RSSI development strategies in order to obtain efficient locating systems.
