Abstract :
This paper presents an ultra wide band (UWB) antenna working in frequency range from 6 GHz to 10 GHz. The antenna is made from bending a copper plate into a C shape with a rectangular slot in the middle of the radiating patch. The antenna has a compact size of 7.5 Ã 5.5 Ã 10 mm3 and it is mounted onto a 10 Ã 10mm2 FR4 substrate. The antenna is short-circuited to the ground plate below the substrate via an extended arm of the radiating patch. This antenna is proposed for real time location system (RTLS) application which is working in the frequency range from 6 GHz to 9 GHz. The antenna design along with its measurement and simulation result is discussed and presented in this paper.
