Author_Institution :

Abstract :
The ORU (USA) engineering program graduates students in the areas of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, bioengineering and engineering physics. However, one faculty member coordinates capstone designs for all these areas. This paper discusses some of the challenges faced by the coordinator while trying to manage such a diverse activity. It also throws some light onto the advantages of having the present setup that has produced some exceptional designs with a few patents for their undergraduate students. To avoid a one-sided view of the whole process, the author also discusses some disadvantages of this setup.
