Abstract
The goal of this paper is to provide an initial guidepost for computer science (CS) educators seeking to make better use of educational theory research. The authors provide an overview of the latest and most prominent methods for science teaching, and discuss their application to CS education. They provide examples of current applications. For those methods which have not yet been applied to CS, they outline possible future applications.
