Abstract :
This paper present a comparative review of previous oil plants grounding papers for establishing the theoretical and methodological requirements. Based on particular characteristics, trend and evolution of these grounding systems is in the scope to establish a practical design guide using the experience in similar projects. It is shown the impact of the modifications in the existing electrical systems due to the improvements and new grounding design practices. Problems areas associated with each type of grounding are identified and solutions are discussed. A practical method and recommendation for the design engineer is developed
