Abstract :
In this study, the meaning of 5 million cycles´ endurance test on escalator steps and moving walks pallets which required by international standards (EN115, CSA B 44/A.17) is analyzed on the view point of reliability and changed these test cycles into the life cycle to be assured. Based on the test data from Korea Testing Laboratory (hereunder refer to as KTL) and manufacturers, the shape parameter (beta) of steps and pallets could be calculated as 2,4~2,6 and 2,7~2,8 individually under Weibull distribution. By applying these shape parameters, 5 million cycles´ endurance test means as B10 life cycle for steps and pallets could be decided as 7 years and 6 years individually.
