Abstract
A description is given of an ISDN (integrated-services digital network) basic-access LSI that can be used in various kinds of terminals. This LSI performs all layer-1 and layer-2 functions defined by CCIT recommendations I.430 and I.441. The LSI also contains input/output functions that enable it to be directly connected to a layer-3 microprocessor. This LSI´s functional specifications, configuration, implementation by ASIC (application-specific integrated-circuit) technology, and applications terminals are discussed
