Abstract :
Calculations are presented of current density and power absorption in the lower leg. The structure of the leg is defined by cross-sectional slices from an anatomical atlas which are mapped into a three-dimensional model of over 14000 rectilinear cells. A finite-difference method based on the quasistatic approximation is used to solve for the complex electric field in the 3-D structure of cells whose electrical properties are defined by a complex conductivity tensor. The results are presented and discussed.<>
