Abstract
The continuous operative decisions that depend on the level of Guri Dam, have created the need to develop a simple system of references that supports such decisions by considering the principal variables that determine the administration of the dam. For the elaboration of this map of references, the levels of the dam were established in order to adjust the operation of the system during the next two years upon the criteria of reliability, considering diverse profiles of generation of CVG EDELCA based on the application of generation schemes with hydraulic maximization or minimization of thermal generation. The base of the methodology is the simulation of the behavior of Guri dam, through a model that determines the level of the dam from a generation already defined by CVG EDELCA during a 24-month period. As a result a group of reference curves of different generation profiles was obtained, that indicate the operative scheme necessary to apply
