Abstract :
This paper examines the need for improved temperature control in present and future generations of frequency standards. We present a novel design for a cryogenic resistance bridge and show how a low frequency a.c. drive with a synchronous detector can provide μK sensitivity with the possibility of at least two orders of magnitude further precision available
