  • Abstract
    This paper expatiates the importance of information resource, defines information resource; puts forward 6 characteristics of information resource which are easy to share, easy to co-construct, value-added, volume-added, low space-time sensitivity and high space-time benefit, and 5-layer model of information resource which are data layer, semanteme layer, knowledge layer, intelligence layer and solution layer; summarizes the main bodies of information resource management including consultation, intelligence, archives, library and public communication and the development trends of information resource. Knowledge production is an important way to exploit and utilize the information resource. It is divided into batch production and order production. The working flows of them are framed, and the differences between manufacturing and them in supply chain are also revealed. It indicates that the knowledge production is much more complicated, the updating of the supply chain is frequent, and it is intractable to measuring the issues. Then introduced briefly is the performance evaluation model of supply chain in knowledge production
