Abstract :
We present a component-based framework and its supporting simulation tool for joint software-hardware modelling and performance analysis of multiprocessor embedded systems. This joint evaluation enables predicting the impact of hardware configuration on software performance and hardware capability to accommodate other services at design time. The experiments carried out on several real- life industrial-size applications show that our framework is scalable while achieving fast simulation speeds, and delivers correct performance trends which are successfully used for identifying and improving limiting performance factors.
