Abstract
Radio frequency identification (RFID) system based on surface acoustic wave (SAW) tag has great potential for future applications. It is important for a tag to have uniform amplitude of output signal which easily for tag discrimination and data processing. In this paper, we propose a methodology for SAW tag design based on ANSYS piezoelectric analysis simulation model. Using the methodology, two tags are simulated, designed, and fabricated. One has fixed number of electrodes in each reflector and varied electrode width. The other has varied both number and width of the electrodes in each reflector. A comparison is made between simulation and test results.
