Abstract :
This paper derives the appropriate sensors deployment scheme by analysis considering the perspective of location estimation. Our strategies are to eliminate vacancy points which can not be estimated, to guarantee the bounded estimation error over a given workspace and to achieve low sensor density. Compared with the random deployment, the planned deployment provides a better solution to guarantee the estimation error bound over the given field. The regular space patterns including equilateral triangle, square and regular hexagon are discussed. It is found that the equilateral triangle pattern is the best deployment pattern in terms of these strategies. Simulation results show the verification of the proposed analysis.
