Abstract
Medical practice shows that, due to the limited capability of the human memory to solve multicriterial choice problems, the decisions of physicians are often nonoptimal and sometimes even nonrational. In this context the authors discuss some properties of the multiple-drug emergency-therapy-choice expert system PHARM-2. They discuss the estimation of the comparative efficiency of drug therapies. Such estimates are required for utilization in the knowledge base of an expert system.<>
